Tiffany Lewis
Director of Development, New Orleans

Tiffany knew from the age of five that her calling was to educate both the minds and hearts of  students—nurturing empathy, encouraging perspective-taking, and instilling a commitment to service above self. As a public school English teacher for 18 years, she devoted herself to shaping the lives of young people through language, literature, and critical thinking. She later transitioned into development to expand her impact beyond the classroom. Driven by a deep belief that everyone deserves access to the resources they need, Tiffany sees fundraising and nonprofit development as powerful tools to support under-resourced communities in overcoming barriers and building brighter futures. For her, development is not just a profession—it’s the vehicle through which she continues her life’s mission to advance equity and create change.

A proud New Orleans native, Tiffany holds a BA in English from Loyola University New Orleans and an M.Ed.+30 in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Language and Literacy, from the University of New Orleans. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and—true to her New Orleans roots—discovering new restaurants across the city.

Quote:

“There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky, And you ask "What if I fall?" Oh but my darling, What if you fly?” -Erin Hanson

Why I chose this quote:

I deeply believe in the power of self-confidence. We have to tune out the noise that says we can’t and be confident that we can and we will. It’s important to take risks and believe that we are equal to or greater than any challenges we face. Wings alone do not lift a bird; it must actively use them to fly. In the same way, we must spread our wings and take action, even when the path is uncertain or intimidating. Therein lies the beauty of Generation Hope—we champion our Scholars when they stumble and cheer them on when they fly.
