FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nicole Lynn Lewis Launches Second Book, Student Parent, at “The Tiny Sparks Celebration”
The official book release event will feature teen parents whose stories are included in the book, with live shots and interviews available throughout the afternoon.
WASHINGTON (February 16, 2026) — Generation Hope will host The Tiny Sparks Celebration on March 3, 2026, the official book launch event for Student Parent: The Fight for Families, the Cost of Poverty, and the Power of College, the second book by award-winning author and Generation Hope Founder & CEO Nicole Lynn Lewis.
The event marks both the national release of the book and a closing punctuation to Generation Hope’s 15th anniversary celebration. It will feature a live program beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a moderated fireside conversation with Lewis and teen parents whose lived experiences are included in the book, followed by a reading by Lewis. Nearly five million college students today are parents—one in five undergraduates—yet they remain largely invisible in higher education policy and national debates about economic mobility. In Student Parent, Lewis blends personal narrative with research to expose the systemic barriers that separate families from opportunity and to offer a bold roadmap for change.
“This book is a call to arms for anyone who believes higher education is not a luxury, but a fundamental right,” Lewis said. “It is an excavation of how we arrived at this moment—and a blueprint for the work we must do to build a path toward lasting change.”
