Mbali Khuzwayo
Senior Digital Marketing Coordinator
Mbalenhle Khuzwayo, best known as ‘Mbali’ (pronounced: mm-bah-lee), was born and raised in South Africa and is now based in northern Virginia. Her passion for writing began at a young age, leading her to win a local writing competition in 6th grade, with her work published in a book.
She graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a Bachelor of Arts degree — majoring in Media Studies and Digital Arts. Mbali takes great satisfaction in managing multiple projects and building long-lasting relationships with clients and customers through persuasive writing and visual storytelling.
After graduating, she then pursued certifications in Business Marketing from Long Island University in New York and Strategic Social Media Marketing from Boston University. Equipped with these qualifications, she has taken on diverse roles in the marketing and communications industry, working both in-house and as a freelancer.
Always striving to be a resource for those who may be unaware of the support available to them, Mbali now brings that same dedication to her work as Generation Hope’s Senior Digital Marketing Coordinator. She combines her background in marketing and graphic design to create thoughtful, visually engaging content that amplifies the stories of student parents and highlights the organization’s impact.
Mbali has been a wellness blogger for nine years, and her evenings after work are often filled with multiple crafting projects while she listens to music. On weekends, she can be found visiting an art gallery, trying out different trails in Virginia and ticking off at least one item from her bucket list.

Why I chose this quote:
I find myself returning to this quote at least once a month — whether to remind myself, friends, or family. It resonates with me because it applies to every part of life: work, relationships, and personal growth. It’s a powerful reminder that we can shape our circumstances; things remain the same until we find the courage to create change.
