Ida Britton
Chief of Staff
Ida earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgetown University and her master’s degree in counseling from the University of the District of Columbia. While working on her graduate degree, she was also raising two young children, an experience that gave her a deep understanding of both the challenges and the triumphs of being a student parent. That perspective connects her closely to the mission of Generation Hope and the families it serves. Over the past three decades, Ida has built a career in higher education, nonprofit leadership, and counseling, always focused on creating systems that help people succeed and leading with both clarity and compassion. In addition to her leadership experience, she is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Maryland, bringing both strategy and heart to every role. Outside of work, Ida finds joy in cycling, practicing yoga, and spending time near the beach, which she considers her happiest place.
Fave Quote: "Because your are alive, everything is possible." - Thich Nhat Hanh
Why: This quote reminds me that each day holds new opportunities for growth and change. It speaks to the potential of student parents and their families and to the power of hope and possibility. At Generation Hope I am inspired by how these possibilities are nurtured and transformed into real outcomes for Scholars and their children.
