What's happened this month at Generation Hope

What Does It Cost to Raise a Family Today?

The affordability of raising a family isn't an abstract economic debate for student parents like Britni Billings. Generation Hope's New Orleans Scholar of the Year joined Morning Joe on MS NOW to bring the lived experience behind the headlines into the national conversation.

Nicole Lynn Lewis Joins Inside Higher Ed to Talk Student Parent Success

Generation Hope Founder and CEO Nicole Lynn Lewis joined Inside Higher Ed's The Key to unpack what institutions still misunderstand about student parents, from time poverty and childcare to housing, finances, and belonging. Find out what parts of student parenthood that higher education can overlook, including what students are carrying with them into—and home from—the classroom.

Career Day is back this fall

Career Day returns this October, connecting Generation Hope Scholars with professionals across industries for conversations, coaching, and the kind of encouragement that can shape what's next. Sign up to volunteer in New Orleans or Washington, D.C.

Your Institution Deserves to be Recognized

Student parents succeed when institutions make space for all the value their presence brings. For organizations, prioritizing student parents is second nature – woven into their culture and policy. If your college, university, or non-profit is committed to institutional change, you deserve to be recognized and that’s what our FamilyU Seal is all about.

Meet our newest team members

Our work continues to grow in more ways than one. This summer, we welcomed Brandon Stokes as Vice President of Advancement and Sierrah Chavis as Director of Development in D.C., strengthening leadership across both our fundraising and programmatic work. We're excited for what each will bring to Generation Hope and the communities we serve.

Give Early & Help Keep Hope Growing in North Texas

Last fall, our first Dallas Scholars joined Generation Hope, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our work in North Texas. Early giving for North Texas Giving Day opens August 27, giving you the opportunity to invest in the scholarships, mentorship, mental health services, and community surrounding student parents across the region.
